This page includes a JavaScript script which determines whether to use the EMBED code for Netscape or the BGSOUND code for some of the other browsers. It'll then write the correct code. List the source of this page to cut and paste it into your page.

Of course, on most pages offering MIDI files it is better not to EMBED a file, but to let your visitor choose which file he/she wants to download and listen to.

However, for pages which aren't primarily MIDI file pages, you may want to include background music, even though you still run the risk of losing a certain number of potential repeat visitors who are irritated with the background music.
